Damiana is a traditional aphrodisiac that can be smoked for a euphoric alternative high, or drunk as a tea for pleasant relaxation and/or enhancing erotic experiences. It's the best tasting of all the herbs so makes a great mixer with other herbs. Some find Damiana tea with honey overcomes the desire for alcohol.

Usage: One or two heaped tablespoons of the dried herb are steeped (not boiled) in a teapot for relaxation. Maybe smoked for an alternative high. Damiana is best smoked in a waterpipe along with drinking the tea at the same time.

Effects: A cup drunk with honey before bed relaxes one for lovemaking and promotes pleasant dreams (sometimes erotic). Damiana has a tonic effect upon the sexual organs and the central nervous system. Damiana is also known as an excellent kidney tonic and an antidepressant. Three dimensional effect and colour appreciation is also heightened.

Damiana Love Potion: Boil 2 heaped tablespoons of the herb in two cups of water for five minutes, sweeten with honey and drink each evening for two weeks.

Damiana Liquor Love Potion: Soak 25 grams of dried Damiana leaves in 500mls of Tequila (or Vodka) for 5 days. Pour off the liquids, strain and filter through a conical filter paper. Soak the remaining alcohol drenched leaves in 500mls of distilled or spring water for another 5 days. Pour off the liquids, strain and filter as before. Warm the water extracts to about 160ºF and dissolve in this half to one cup of honey. Then combine the alcoholic and aqueous extractions. It tastes exquisite and is most effective.
